On this site, you can find helpful information and resources about the French program at St. Mary's School.

 

French at St. Mary’s is a little different: we learn French through a ‘gesture-based’ language learning program called AIM (Acclerated Learning Method). So, learning French involves the teacher using a hand gesture for each word. This helps students acquire the French language much more rapidly than just doing pen-to-paper worksheets. These same gestured words, which are taught section-by-section (lists A, B, C, etc) are eventually used to learn a French play in grades 1-7
